Since 2023, the Digital Lab has been coordinating the Digital Transformation Dissertation Award on behalf of Wallonia, a major initiative designed to highlight research conducted at the master’s level and strengthen ties between the academic world and practitioners in the field.

This award serves as a key mechanism for highlighting innovative academic contributions that are directly applicable to businesses. By bringing together a jury that includes representatives from the business community, it ensures that the winning research addresses the practical challenges associated with digital transformation.

This is an inter-university initiative organized in collaboration with the five business schools in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation: Louvain School of Management (UCLouvain), Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (ULB), the Warocqué Faculty (UMons), Unamur Business School, and HEC Liège (ULiège), as well as Wallonia as part of the Digital Wallonia strategy. The five universities take turns hosting the Awards Ceremony at the end of the calendar year, a special opportunity for companies to meet the nominees and winners, learn about their work, and explore potential collaborations.
